Perhaps the new TR plans are ... good? A novice perspective

My second ramp test ever had jumped from 234 to 273 - a 16% increase in FTP.
Yay me, of course.
However, I was concerned about complaints of failed workouts that would follow an FTP increase.
Serendipitously, I was able to upgrade to the new plan before the next workout, and… things have worked out fine.
One the one hand, I notched up my VO2 to 105% today.
OTOH, the &*%$ threshold workouts are just. On. The. Edge. But not failed.
So, yeah, I’m a (n00b) fan.
