Pidcock took the B line and passed. That’s literally the point of when the travel splits (to allow riders an opportunity to pass on single track). It was a real champion move IMO. Very exciting race to watch!
I might be wrong or misinformed, but I’m Brazilian and as far as I know, all games in Rio took place in Rio de Janeiro, which, by the way, had the same water issue in the Bahia de Guanabara.
Tested positive for COVID yesterday, so been watching lots of different sports to pass the time.
The skill levels of both the badminton and table tennis athletes is unreal. Harimoto vs. Fan in the quarterfinals and both of these guys are soaked in sweat. An epic match going on.
You’re right, but that was the FIFA World Cup, not the Olympic Games.
2014 World Cup all over Brazil, and 2016 Olimpic Games, Rio de Janeiro being the host.
EDITED: They might’ve used a few stadiums for Football only, but the core of the games were all in Rio. A few of them were held in surrounding areas, such as the MTB Cross Country, which is in the Rio Janeiro State, but not in Rio de Janeiro City.
I believe I heard this and I am remembering correctly (from broadcast the other night): there is a table tennis athlete that had to serve a suspension for PEDs. (Mostly) rhetorical question: what on earth can you take to make you better at ping pong?!
finally watched the women’s MTB (had a 90 min threshold workout to do). Enjoyed it but it left me with questions. (1) I saw a ride with her rear tire off and insert hanging out, looked like her left chain stay snapped in half as well. So, I get that the athlete has to get back to the pit under his/her own power, but do they have to follow the course? Can they cut across and shimmy downhill? (2) Felt bad for Puck, but can they not have a Dynaplug and a CO2 in their jersey? seems a lot faster than hike a bike or riding down a rock garden on a rim (3) nasty crash on the rocks. what are the rules on spectators helping an athlete to their feet? render treatment? pick up a bike and put a chain back on?
