Outdoor TR workout - longer warmup?

As per the title, never done a TR workout outdoors but it looks like the warmup length doesn’t change, from home to suitable location I’d need say 30-40min before could do intervals? Without building the session in Training peaks which seems a waste is there a way to manage the TR workout and increase workout?

With most outdoor workouts you have hit the lap button on your head unit to start the intervals. What I end up doing is just riding to where I can do an interval and not hit the lap button until then. You’ll see no target power but just treat it as an extended warm up.

I just start a garmin ride ride to a suitable location, stop and load up the workout then. Nothing complicated.

Depending on the workout, I will do what the others mentioned above, or just hit pause on the workout 30 seconds before the warmup ends and then unpause once I get to my interval spot. All 3 solutions work and you end up with just one ride recorded on the Garmin. It just kind of depends on if I want to do the stacked warmup before or after I get to the destination.
