After a year when life got in the way of fitness things are returning to normal and I’m looking to get myself back and better. While training consistency is my main goal my nutrition could also use some help. I’ve been looking at various nutrition apps, I’ve used chronometer off and on before and heard alot of people rave about macrofactor. My main question with macrofactor is does it sync with your workouts or is it an estimate? obviously as cyclists with power meters we have a much better idea of energy cost of out work outs then somebody lifting in the gym. With Chronometer has anyone used there photo logging function? I’ve only used the free version but find my logging falls apart eating out or with more complex home cooked meals so being able to take a quick picture to log the meal somewhat accuretly would be great.
Commenting on the Macrofactor aspects, no it doesn’t sync with your workouts, but that’s part of the philosophy. It uses your intake and weight trends to work out your expenditure so doesn’t need the input of what you burned during a workout.
The only thing I do to manage it is I create a custom plan for how many calories to consume per day based on what I know I’m going to be burning when I work out, so I have more calories planned on days when I work out than on rest days - but the app has perfect flexibility to allow you to do that, especially if you’re on a predictable training schedule.
hexis.live syncs with workouts — in both ways.
I.m using My Net Diary. i have the paid version. but i used the free version for years and it worked great. i just wanted a bit more detail with my vitamins. I also have it linked to my garmin watch and garmin scale and strava. as for calories i think it pulls them from strava. that i have linked to my edge unit. The photo aspect is pretty accurate. but i would double check every so often just to make sure. you can also pre load meals that you eat often. oh and i am using an iphone but i assume it works with android as well. they also have a desk top app if that matters. i would suggest get the free version and play around with it to see if it works for you before paying for it. hope this helps
Would love to know what you think of app.glycogo.fit. I built it as an alternative to Hexis and Fuelin as I didn’t like the lack of customisability of in fuel targets, and my own complicated excel sheet had got too much!
It syncs your workouts and provides within and pre/post fueling targets based on duration and intensity. Also has an AI chatbot for photo loggging, and meal suggestions based on your targets.
You can then sycn your daily carb and calories for the day back to intervals.icu (there API is easily availably and syncs with most platforms)
Its currently free and I am looking for feedback/beta testers.
Thanks!
