I already bought a pack of rubber covers from Ebay in red , blue, black and green…
will they be compatible?
I umm’d and arrrr’d over bold vs Garmin and sat on the bold. I also have a Garmin fenix 5x and between the two navigation is fine. I don’t think I would completely trust the bolt to navigate.
just to add my 2 cents that I have used wahoo support a few times with kicker related issues and they come through all the time.
Garmin as well have always supported the issues I have had

So it’s basically a slightly lighter ELEMNT in aero bolt form. Overall size may be a little bit smaller than the ELEMENT though. Higher res and colour screen may sell it to me, though I share my HU between my adventure/training bike and my TT bike so not sure I want to add more bulk if a newer Bolt is also going to be around the corner… maybe best holding out for that.

Yeah, it’s the color unit for sure.
The Wahoo Element Companion App has landed in the Apple App store (here in Australia anyway). Basically the same, few extra links to sites which most people have never heard of and a slightly different look, fairly underwhelming for email release a few weeks back stating this awesome new development but when a colour change also gets an email I guess it is to be expected.
That said I was racing in a Gran Fondo on the weekend where we rode through some tunnels under the city. They were quite deep and Wahoo devices were able to calculate the total distance correctly and Garmin’s were not.

Nice! That’s exactly what I’d like to have - an Elemnt with onboard nav and a slightly larger, colour screen. Perfect for my off-road getting lost shenanigans

My gut feeling after just a min of looking at this is that edge 530 is a much better bang for the buck in comparison.
