Have. New iPhone 17 and can’t pair the trainer with TR anymore. The trainer is on Bluetooth but the app can’t find it
Hey there! Welcome to the forum! ![]()
Are you pairing the trainer to your iPhone’s Bluetooth, or directly to the TrainerRoad app?
You actually don’t want to pair the trainer to your phone’s Bluetooth, so if you’ve done that, open up your Bluetooth settings and forget your trainer from the list of known devices.
Then try to connect your trainer directly to the TR app.
Let me know if this helps!
I connect directly through the app. It used to work perfectly with my previous phone but since I changed phone it doesn’t. So I have to use my old phone if I want to use TrainerRoad. With that one it works while it is a previous model. Makes no sense.
Could you reach out to support@trainerroad.com and open a ticket? I’ll pick it up on the other end, and it will be easier to troubleshoot this that way.
Let me know once you’ve done that, and I’ll take a look! ![]()
Connection drops after switching phones can be frustrating, and I ran into a similar problem when my trainer stayed paired to the old device in the background. I like clearing Bluetooth caches and removing any lingering pairings from both devices before reconnecting. It usually helps to reboot everything once, since the trainer sometimes refuses new connections until the previous link is fully released.
