New Favero Pro RS (SPD-SL) Pedals June 3rd

I couldn’t find anywhere in the UK in stock so just ordered from Favero. Hopefully no unexpected charges.

IDK about the new pedals but I have the old pod style and swap those between mtb and road pedal bodies. There’s a threaded cover and a nut on each pedal, so very easy to swap over and can be done while still on the bike. In my case, I was swapping between bikes and bodies, changing crank length in the app, all of which was a bit much to do routinely so I just got a spider PM for the mtb. IDK, but I’m thinking it might be more reliable as it’s one thing instead of two, and not subject to pedal strikes and abuse pedal PMs are.

EDIT: DCRainmaker’s vid shows swapping out pedal bodies. He says maybe 60seconds to do both sides. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRT70KffpCM

Honestly I should just buy the pro-mx pedals and use those for my road, gravel, and MTB. I don’t care that much about spd-sl on my road bike but I’d need to give up my favorite cycling shoes which are my road bike shoes

You can get MTB spd cleats for three bolt road shoes at the expense of a little stack height. I think Wellgo make them.

Charges I have just paid are VAT (20%) and a FedEx “disbursement fee” of £12.75

Nice. Did yours arrive already then? Mine are still on “Awaiting Fulfillment”.

It would be nice to have more time to see how reliable they are, but so far they look really amazing, and flexible, like the Rally’s. If only these came out a couple years ago when I bought the Rally’s. Expensive…

I wouldn’t have any doubts.on reliability, had my MXPro’s since they were released last year, which used the same axle. They’ve been fine. Also had the original Assioma’s for 7 years now and aside from one axle they replaced under warranty, they’ve been fine too.

With all the tests already out and giving these glowing reviews, I’m glad I ordered a pair immediately. Pedals with PM weighing pretty much same as a duraace pair of pedals is insane!

Gotta unload the old assiomas now

Not arrived yet, still in Italy according to FedEx.

I also bought a pair, my Assioma DUO have been going great for 6+ years now but I’ve been curious to be able to look at PCO and get back into SPD-SL cleats. I got my DUO from Clever Training for $525 brand new so hoping to just about break even on them and have a lighter newer setup

Bought on June 2nd and mine have shipped but still in Italy

Mine arrived today!

If you go this route, you better be accurate as hell clipping in. I damn near killed myself clipping into my trainer with these, I can’t imagine using them in the real world. Walking around on them is terrifying too.

I switched all my bikes over to Look pedals after getting the original Assiomas back in 2018. Hoping they release a Look version of this pedal so I don’t have to make the switch back to SPD SL if I buy some of these.

I asked Favero support on this but got told they didn’t know if there was a plan to offer a Look compatible version.

I signed up to the newsletter, to hopefully been informed if they do.
