Does anyone know which side of this deal MTB World Cups will land?
From what I read, the deal won’t be finalized for 18-24 months, and will likely be subject to plenty of lawsuits and regulatory hearings. So it’s probably too soon to tell what will happen.
They didn’t buy the sports… so from what I heard they are only interested in the studio properties and movies. Sports will stay with Discovery. Which I guess is HBO still?
Yeah. Dig more digging and found info that aligns with what you said. Netflix bought the studio and streaming business (HBO). But did not buy the cable network or discovery business, and discovery are the ones that hold the rights for the MTB series. Looks like the Network/Discovery business needs be hived off before Netflix can take ownership of the other half of the business.
Still, I will hold out hope that the MTB series will become cheaper/easier to watch at some point in the future.
