My morning smoothie for anyone looking for ingredient ideas

Anyone use coconut water? Folks just prefer the water or almond milk for fewer calories?

The only good coconut water is straight out of a young coconut and that would be too tasty to waste by mixing it with anything. Coconut water in a can or tetrapak is pasteurized and expensive so not as healthy as you would think. Almond milk is really watered down and likely has some preservatives. I prefer to add organic shredded coconut and a few almonds or other nuts to the smoothie and use water as the mixing beverage.

Been there, done that. Paprika, in my case.

I usually opt for the classic banana/peanut butter/milk/frozen spinach combo. Pretty good bang for your buck IMO, and I live in a uni dorm so I have fairly limited food storage/preparation options.

Frozen spinach is interesting idea. I usually freeze banana and use spinach as fresh but it tends to go bad before I can use whole pack. How do you freeze spinach? As is or chop before?

I portion my spinach into sandwich baggies before freezing and just use one baggie full for each smothie.

You can buy frozen spinach.

OP’s ingredients are borderline insane but i cant knock the commitment to health :muscle:t3:

Mine usually just consist of a few handfuls of spinach, some frozen blueberries, a banana, some ACV and water.

Mine’s called the PBBYPO - helps me remember the ingredients:

  • Peanut Butter, a healthy sized spoon
  • Banana
  • Yoghurt, normally a high protein/low fat one
  • Protein, a 25g scoop
  • Oats, 30g
and a nice sprinkle of salt to bring it all together.

Delicious.
