I’ve done what Tr suggested to me excerpt for 4 wo during last 5 months and i miss a recovery week because i trained less than usual during two Sunday’s group ride.
I’ve custom Plan aiming to 3 races in May and June.
It’s strange that for the next 28 days TR AI gives 0% of improvement.
Anyway now i have a recovery week than let’s see what Will happen
I think it would be useful to focus on the last three weeks since you were advised on how to get more out of TR.
As you recently updated to a custom Plan it would be useful for us to see what your last four and next four weeks training look like, were the recommended volumes and settings taken - then maybe we can advise on how to improve the outcome:
Skipping the recovery week because you took it a bit easier on two rides is not a good training decision. The whole point of recovery “weeks” (might actually be 5-8 days) is to drop the stress on your body low enough, for long enough, to get it to change from a state of stress to a state of repair. In that state of repair it builds back stronger. That takes days, not hours.
The reason you’re getting no increase in your prediction is probably because the AI is assuming that your two solo rides are adding nothing in terms of stimulus, and so the prediction is based solely on your two interval sessions.
As an experiment, change the solo rides in the simulation window to TR workouts of similar duration/TSS/IF and see what happens. You can always change them back after.
I’ve probably reached the plateau that Tr can offer me with two 90-minute workouts a week on the roller.
I have two options for the next two months:
A) three 1-hour workouts on the roller plus One group ride
B) two 2.5-hour workouts outdoors plus One group ride
I’m currently taking an aggressive approach.
I had already expressed some doubts about the workouts on days 26 and 5. They were indeed very tough, especially the one on day 5, which was basically an hour of SS with 2.5 minutes of recovery between sets. Day 5 was an all-out effort.
It looks like that workout wasn’t one that was put in by your plan, and you ended up not hitting the power target. I’m guessing, given that Martin is at the same level as the workout you passed the previous week, that you swapped out a harder workout.
This suggests to me that “Aggressive” is not a good option.
What’s your thinking here? Why not, for instance, three 90-minute workouts, or two 90s and a 60? 60 is perfect for VO2 Max.
No, Martin was the one I expected, I didn’t change anything, just doing an hour in Sweetspot on the trainer is really hard ( for me).
I don’t know how i completed Galena, maybe I was more rested, and even psychologically, doing 20-minute blocks is tough. I prefer to do over-and-unders of 10-15 minutes.
Now probably i have to manage my calendar work load if i want to increased a little bit.
Use custom planner to change your plan to balanced, use the recommended volume/structure. Accept that plan and see what the ai prediction is.
Once you have that “baseline” for what TR recommends that improves your FTP, work in changes from there, applying new plans to see how it affects things.
