Very true…though the one I have I have carefully emptied half of it to get it to the right level. Been using it almost a year and like that it’s cool and offers great support. Can mold it perfectly. Downside is now the husks are a bit more compressed, I find I have to make a hollow with a finger quickly if I want to sleep on my side, for my ear, else its uncomfortable. Once I’ve done that I have great nights sleep. Find I now do it automatically in the night when turning over!
I always struggled to find a good pillow for my kiddo (3 y.o.) Big boy sometimes sleeps with his mommy and daddy, especially when it’s a thunderstorm outside. And we had some problems with that cause our pillows we not hypoallergenic, and the boy needed one. We found this toddler pillow. Not only is this pillow hypoallergenic, but there are also no flame retardants or antimicrobials either so your child won’t breathe in any chemicals throughout the night.

We recently bought a custom made mattress for our campervan and it’s better than my bed at home. We used this foam cut to size service to make it. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for something similar.

My side is set up firm and the wife’s is medium.
If you decide you want a firmer or softer bed the cores can be switched out.
Also wool blankets are awesome.
I had down blankets before but would always sweat, wool is much more breathable.
Looking to upgrade our 10-year-old Tempurpedic. It’s gone soft and isn’t supportive as it once was. I’m finding that 95% of mattress review sites are paid-reviews and don’t give you a reliably honest answer. I trust Wirecutter though and they give very favorable reviews to the Saatva Classic Luxury and I’m intrigued. Of course I’d like to try a mattress in person first, but I’m finding that to be difficult or very limiting.
It seems like memory foam mattresses have about a 5-7 year lifespan and I don’t like the idea of spending $1500 every 5-7 years, let alone the material waste of replacing a mattress.
My wife is a hybrid sleeper–sleeping on her back and side 50/50. I’m more of a 70/30 bias toward side.
Any other mattresses I should be considering in the $1500-1700 price range?

I just got “My Pillow”, it helped a lot.
I wouldn’t support that company if my life depended on it.
Six months ago I got a Leesa Hybrid which I like. That said, the old mattress was 10+ years old, so likely anything would’ve felt like an upgrade for me.
I also bought a Belly Sleeper pillow, which I like quite a bit as an intermittent stomach and side sleeper
However, as others have mentioned, the single biggest upgrade to my sleep situation was the Ooler. I’ve basically sold 4 or 5 other units to friends based on my experience - if you are a hot sleeper its 100% worth the money. They are expensive but once you have one its hard to imagine going back

I am a construction worker and I have had the same mattress for 16 years and I been waking up recently with back pains and neck pains. So I guess I need a new mattress too. So I’ve been doing a lot of research here https://www.talkaboutsleep.com/best-mattresses-for-hip-pаin/ . The Helix mattresses look so awesome and so confortable.
This is like discussing shoes and saddles, but as a data point we got a Helix mattress a few years ago. The wife and I couldn’t stand it. The custom concept sounded good but it was just a super hard piece of foam with no sink whatsoever. Maybe that’d be good for a bad back, but it sure wasn’t comfortable. I didn’t notice any difference between our sides and it didn’t seem particularly cool. We ended up putting a tempurpedic mattress topper on it and that made it tolerable for a while, but we were both happy when we got rid of it.
They finally make it in a king size!

whatever I had in college back in the 80s, wish I could go back and find that mattress because back then I slept like a champ and felt recovered even after pulling a couple of all nighters studying for finals! 
And to think we took it for granted!

I’ve got the Purple Premier 3 and a purple pillow. I have also added a 35lb weighted blanket. These are the best investments I’ve ever made in my recovery. I’ve never slept better.
The unfortunate effect is that I sleep very poorly anywhere else that doesn’t have this setup.
We have a purple and love it. Not sure which model but have been very happy for a few years now.
