Masters Plans and More Launched Today! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

There wonโ€™t be any effect on AI FTP Detections. It looks at all of your training โ€” indoors, outdoors, structured, and unstructured โ€” to understand your fitness and detect your FTP. Our system looks at your personal biometrics and the unique details of your recent and past cycling data to detect your FTP without the need for maximal efforts or specific workouts.

As @aydraper said โ€“ the work you do in the plan (and your ability to recover from that work) will ultimately be what will drive your FTP gains.

Moving up from my typical low volume training to mid volume masters this season. Iโ€™m focusing on endurance events next year, so feels like a great option.

@ZackeryWeimer
I am not sure if this is a known bug and is target to be fixed but I noticed in my current block that it does not enforce the custom durations set for my HV polarized plan:

And the intensities shown in each day seem to be off what is actually a polarized plan/what I have.

@patricksudol @ZackeryWeimer This is the same on mine, the workout durations seem selectable for standard plans in the android app, but they donโ€™t stick once selected. It seems customising the durations only works for custom plans.

@patricksudol @mtbtomo Thanks for the heads up on that! Weโ€™ve got the team looking into this now.

We could do that. Or maybe a button that starts a ramp down?

So you kinda โ€œturn it onโ€ to pedal forever, then โ€œturn it offโ€ and it does a 5 min cool down?

I was thinking in โ€œstandard modeโ€ where you could just pedal in the gear you want til you are done (and then get the โ€œend workoutโ€ pop up)โ€ฆ but for erg mode that would be awesome. Maybe instead of an โ€œextend cool downโ€ button one that says โ€œstart cool downโ€ timer of 5 min?

This is in testing now. Website will probably get updated today, apps next week! :raised_hands:

Yes! Weโ€™re adding this! Nice idea!

I did a podcast today about some of things weโ€™re doing and why. Iโ€™ll show more data about AT in future podcast. With AT, the plans are pretty organic and are static. I wonder how many plan combos we could haveโ€ฆI bet itโ€™s something like more than the atoms in the universe.

I personally think mid volume and longer workouts. My body always does better that way.

But some people respond better to frequency.

The first option! Recovery week, 2 weeks work, recovery week!

Iโ€™m not sure what you mean? There are no masterโ€™s options for polarized plans.

Weโ€™re deploying the update on the website now. it should be available in about an hour.

Exciting stuff @Nate_Pearson ! Love the new calendar. Wondering if Iโ€™m going to regret that I just bought another year of TP! The new Plan Builder ideas are great too. Also canโ€™t wait for red light/green light and for it to incorporate with adaptive training.

For future ideas, I know we already have like 5,000 workouts available, but could we get a few that are various length endurance rides that donโ€™t have warm ups or cool downs so that, for example, we could do a 30 minute ride at .65, an hour of intensive intervals, and then a 30 minute cooldown at .6, but without warmup and cooldown on all 3 rides?

There is currently no 30 minute Z2 ride available that doesnโ€™t have a structured warmup and/or very low IF cooldown. They say theyโ€™re .65, but thatโ€™s because they have a .5 warmup and cooldown with 20 mins at .75 (or whatever) in the middle.

You could just do a 30 min free ride and set it resistance. Not erg mode solution but a pretty easy one.

Yeah, but I want AT to count it. Especially for when red light/green light comes. Plus, I want to see the TSS when planning my week.

It would be good if the extension of a workout occurred before the original cooldown, rather than after it.

Iโ€™m going to say wet lube would be best.

Letโ€™s assume, as others have stated, that extending at least one endurance ride gives you additional benefit over general endurance volume. I would then question the need for your back-to-back 4hr rides in Week B option.

Recovery from one 4hr ride to another may be problematic and may potentially extend into Tuesday. You also end up with a very polarised week - 2/3 of your volume in two days. Why do 2x4hrs if the adaptations come from the 4hrs vs 2hrs i.e. letโ€™s assume one longer ride will give you most of the benefit of extending? Perhaps back to back long rides are important specificity for you? Otherwise/Instead, you could do 4hr/2hr and distribute the remainder over Tues+Thurs? Your recovery might be better served by this.
