Loving My Progress with TrainerRoad — First FTP Bump!

Hey everyone I just finished my first 6-week block with TrainerRoad and could not be happier with the results. My FTP went up by 12 watts, and I feel way stronger on climbs. The structured plans keep me focused and I love how adaptive the workouts feel ride to ride. Anyone else see big improvements early on? Would love to hear your experiences or tips for staying consistent

Congrats on the progress! When I get in a groove, I feel a huge difference in my legs and have been consistently getting power PRs over the last 3 years.

As far as consistency tips I think the biggest thing you can do for yourself is have opportunities to “enjoy your fitness”. This means different things for different people, but for me it typically means a good CX season and smashing the occasional group ride with friends. This makes all the hard days on the trainer worth it.

Thanks a lot That is awesome advice I really like the idea of enjoying the fitness you are building not just grinding through workouts. I will definitely try to mix in some fun rides and see how it keeps the motivation high. Appreciate you sharing your experience

I think you’re just showing off… my FTP went DOWN :rofl::rofl::rofl:

For the sake of transparency… it was a tiny drop and was due to illness or similar. I laugh about it now… and hope it’ll go back up again at my next AIFTP review.

My improvements were more subtle but were definitely encouraging.

That sounds like a staff member concerned about getting roasted over KPIs. :laughing:
