Leaving ERG mode for 5 & 20min tests

I have a custom workout that I’ll be doing today that includes both 5 & 20 min tests. Is there a way to do the warm up in ERG mode then flip out when the 5min test begins back in ERG for a bit and out again for the 20min test? Is it as easy as toggling back and forth with STANDARD mode? THX.

Given that the importance of the non-test elements of the workout is less than zero, why not just do the whole thing in not-ERG?

If you’re doing a TR workout we’ll bump you out of ERG for the test segments.

Otherwise, yeah, you can just toggle in and out of ERG if you’d like.

That’s on option for sure. I’m 100% ERG mode in the past so would this be the STANDARD mode?

I think you want “Resistance”

Gotcha. Standard or resistance?

All trainers offer Resistance, but only some offer Standard as well. Either will work find and just differ a bit in the power curve progression relative to wheel speed and control settings (Res = 0-100%, Std = 0-9).

I routinely do intervals in resistance on my TacX. All VO2’s and all test intervals so it’s reasonably regular for me.

Tap, Tap, done if you have the appropriate resistance and gearing dialed beforehand regardless of whether it’s a specific TR workout that does it automatically.

Works great.
