Lake Shoe Similar to CX301

I’ve had the Lake CX301 shoe for a few years now, and need to get new ones. I noticed that they don’t seem to carry the shoe anymore after looking on their site. So I have a few questions:

  1. Is the CX302 the successor to the 301, i.e. the most similar?
  2. I like the soft upper of the 301. Does the 302 have a soft upper? I can’t really tell by reading their description of the product CX302 – Lake Cycling
  3. Has their sizing changed in the last few years? I was a US 11 when I last bought a shoe from them.

I was watching one of the videos from bike fit James talking about Look shoes and the sizing seems to be a pain to workout if buying online. This guy sells loads and I bought a pair from him during a bike fit, but if I wanted another, I would go to a store and try some on.

It might be this video he talks about the brand, but I can’t remember for sure.

Lake does offer a pretty good set of instructions on measuring your foot and then you can find the last/model that works for you. Granted…you can’t just assume if you’re a given size in one model that another model will fit the same.

While I cannot affirm the CX302 replaced the CX301, it is very logical to think so when looking at the model numbers of other shoes in their product line. My suggestion is to send them an email and you should get answers to your questions. I bought a custom pair of CX332’s a few years ago and had questions that were quickly answered via email.
