So my laptop got nicked last year and I haven’t used my edge 800 since as I have a forerunner watch for most activities, but I want to start using it again. The only issue is connectivity as the edge doesn’t have wireless, so I need to connect via usb and upload the fit files. I have an old iPad Air (my wife has the 9inch iPad Pro ) and wondered if the accessory below would be able to show my Garmin as an external drive and allow me to select the fit file in strava to upload activities, and also download routes from ride with gps onto the edge’s memory. If you google Apple and OTG most places say no but I came across a video which reckons this might work. An added stress is that the Garmin isn’t a usb Drive but will need to use the USB charging cable into this dongle in order to connect.
A faff I know, but I can’t afford a new head unit or a new laptop and hoping for a workaround in the meantime.
