🎉 🎉 🎉 Introducing Adaptive Training! 🎉 🎉 🎉

im about to hit 1k I want in! haha

Xert smart workouts. So how the intensity and length of intervals and rest are custom-tailored for you while the workout is still generic. That seems better then the static workouts TR does now

The who what now thread?

Haha I went looking to see if there were any rated over 10 and found Polar Bear+1 which is rated an 11.1 but is apparently only a “stretch” for me right now. I don’t know whether to be excited or terrified.

Suppose I pass all my workouts but I’m actually over training. How will the system detect that? Same with under training I guess. In either case I might have a normal pass on most workouts. I’ve read anecdotal stories about riders doing the plan as prescribed, i.e., they’re able to complete the suggested workouts, but they’re spent at the end. Nothing left for the event stage.

I saw on the podcast the case where you fail a workout, it took feedback about why, so that it could learn and adapt the program for you. But I’m curious about the case you don’t fail I guess.

That would be amazing, I’d love the idea of running with power. A TR with running is exactly what we need. This is where you are, this is where you want to get to and these are the steps to get there’s

I’m just here, sitting & refreshing my inbox hoping to get access to the Beta lol

If you succeed on the workout, there is still a survey. You’ll say how hard you felt the workout was on a 5-point scale, and it will use that to adjust and tailor future workouts for you. Subjective feedback happens at the end of every ride and is cross referenced with 100s of other features to determine the best route forward.

I like if you don’t view the pictures in the email it kind of looks like you were already added

Thanks. That’s what I was wondering, about how much feedback there was after a ride. I just saw the discussion about when you fail but either I missed it or they didn’t discuss much what happens in the normal scenario. As mentioned that seems pretty important to me. Part of the reason I’m so stoked about this too I guess. Last year during parts of the year toward August I felt a bit overtrained. (Note that isn’t TRs fault… I rode a LOT extra in July to get the Trek 1000 mile award lol… and the gold stem cap you got is so worth every mile BTW  )

Also why they need more data to be fed to the machine learning like the Garmin health API, ithlete, hrv4training, … Need more then just data about the workouts you do.

Surveys:

  1. PASS

  1. FAIL
  1. SHORT

Thanks, very possible I missed that part.

Will the adaptive training look at when your last ride took place just before prescribing your next ride? Ie say you had to do ride at 3pm but then due to schedule constraints must do the next days at 4 am.

With the closed Beta will there be a look at what the rider structure is like to get an even swath? I know that this is not built for Multisport athletes but would there be an emphasis to get an even distribution of athlete profiles or is it pure lottery?

Why? I just add 10-15 mins of extra cool down then pedal at what power I want. I’m on a dumb trainer so easy but if on smart trainer either (preferably) simply turn ERG mode off or up intensity to desired level.

I might nitpick a bit and say they aren’t actively adaptive. The plans are adaptive in the sense that you can choose the volume of your plans and which type of cycling focus you’d like to pursue at the beginning of the plan. After that, it’s currently up to you to fine tune.

Edit: Nevermind, you were referring to the pre-AT TrainerRoad and are correct. I should read more.

I have a strong feeling the trainer road people were so enthusiastic about plan builder because it helped train the model used for this.

Some screen grabs showing new info:

No wonder you’re so fast. 145 lbs!!!. I had that much for lunch. Ha!!!
