THIS IS IT!!
@wildone That’s gotta be the meanest click bait EVER! I kept clicking trying to activate AT!
I got access to Beta earlier in the week, which happens to be a rest week in my Plan Builder plan. I have taken advantage of the beginning of the rest week to tidy up the Progressions Levels for Endurance, Tempo, & SS to where they should be for the start of SSB MV 2 next week.
One workout was productive, two stretch, and all three increased their relevant PL and my PL’s for endurance through to VO2 max are above the stock SSB MV 2 plan which is currently loaded.
I kind of expected these workouts results would trigger adaptions to the currently stock plan, but they haven’t. In the back of my mind I recall reading something about what you do in rest weeks will not trigger adaptions until the start of the next “on week”.
I might have that completely wrong and I couldn’t find the OP, so is there a different approach in AT with regard to adaptions when you start in a rest week?
With a Ramp Test on Tuesday, I expect everything will change at that point, so this is more a question of understanding how it works than anything else.
Just got in to AT today. Quick question regarding the outside workouts, they’re not being recognised at the moment, which is fine, but if I was to do 2x45min zone 2 each day Monday-Friday for my commute, could I add something like 2 versions of Pettit for each day next week and mark them as completed outside workouts assigned to each ride and get it recognised that way?
I’m assuming not, which is fine, just wondering
30s into having adaptive training and I’ve already ballsed it up.
My b race is outlaw half in a week on Sunday and my a race Boris dependent is IM Copenhagen in august
On my previous plan I’d done 12 weeks of base, 8 weeks of build and then plan builder sent me back to base for 4 weeks which I haven’t done but instead substituted the last 4 weeks of specialty 70.3 in.
This morning when I got the email about AT i said I wanted a new plan thinking it would still put me into specialty with my same events but instead it’s tried to send me back to full distance base.
This obviously is not what I want.
Is there anyway to return to my previous plan?
Contact support and they will help you.
Backdate your new plan so it starts when your old plan started:
I do 6 workouts a week and been a member for 3 years…. Yet still NOT in AT Beta
.
Who do I tag with regards to bugs? @IvyAudrain @Nate_Pearson ? - I’m stuck in a bit of a loop when estimating tss from outside rides. A couple of times it’s allowed me to select hr based data, and a following screen with max hr and dob, but when I select choose all past and future rides nothing happens. I close the box and have to go back, and the tss isn’t there. I tried again and choose hr data at which point it updates the tss but I don’t get a prompt, seems like it’s not doing it automatically. Thanks in advance
Edit:just went back to the first post and noticed it’s down as a current issue.
yep, that’s where we’ve both gone wrong - maybe we need to stop logging any TR workouts
I was also far too keen to register at the start of the announcement. I’ve probably been blackballed for appearing too desperate
I have wondered if this is part of meeting/not meeting the criteria for the beta. I do 6 TrainerRoad workouts a week, never fail one, signed up for the beta within minutes and have been a subscriber for more than 2 years. I’ve also almost read every post in this thread and others and feel like I have a good understanding of how it all works. I’m ready to go! I’m assuming they are probably looking for people who routinely struggle with completing workouts and scheduling so AT can be further refined.
Not complaining, just an observation.
In my experience, adaptations do not occur during recovery weeks, and you will see the adaptations after your ramp test.
In general the adaptations you are going to see will be contained to the current block of training. While you may see adaptations for workouts beyond the rest week from time to time, they are also likely to change a few more times after that, so if this occurs do not be alarmed and think that’s the last and only adaptation for it.
I know you’re already all set, but for future reference: Email support@trainerroad.com.
Maybe they were looking for a weakling with a tendency to fail workouts. That would explain everything.
I think they’re looking for people with wahoo head units, those doing custom workouts, outside rides only and not following a plan… that’s just my observation.
It seems like the optimal time to kick off this beta would have been late summer/early autumn, when people are transitioning back to primarily inside riding and following TR plans more closely.
Instead, people are really leaning on outdoor riding and head unit data …
I guess it’s a good trial-by-fire for the outdoor features, which would have needed more time in the oven either way.
Just unfortunate timing. I wish youtubers didn’t snipe at TR and get picked up in 10,000 post threads on the forums.
I don’t think we have a large enough sample size to make any conclusions. I would say less than 1% of the people in the beta have been on here to post something to effect of what you said.
Let’s just assume that 20k signed up. That’s been the popular estimate. If correct, that means only 15% are in, and plenty are long time users. Regardless your stats, probability is still way more likely for a person at random to be not in the beta than in.
Does anyone know the procedure with Adaptive Training for having to miss days due to vacation/travel in a plan developed by Plan Builder? Do you delete those days or just leave them in the plan and not perform them. Since the plan is adaptive I assume it will adjust for the missed days.
For sure everything is an assumption at this point, but based on what bugs they haven’t fixed there’s definitely something going on with wahoo and unstructured non-TR rides… either way I’m just over here being patient.
