Levels only change from FTP changes and completing workouts for the plan.
I just did a ramp test. Were all my levels meant to go back down to 1? Because they didnāt
No - that isnāt the intended functionality - they should adjust, but not reset back to 1
When are the levels going to be added to the program outside of beta? Having progression levels on the workouts seems kind of useless if we have no idea what they correlate to on an individual level, short of trying various workouts and saying āok 3.2 felt _/10 difficult so Iāll try _ nextā
I like the TrainNow being a bit smarter with recommending stuff but the levels release doesnāt make much sense right now
I bailed on a sweet spot workout that was doable but it was too hot (it was 75 in my basement and my three fans were basically just blowing hot air on me). i think there needs to be a reason code of ātoo damn hotā lol
I like that as a āfailure modeā and think humidity falls within that too.
totally, my workout was 3x23 @ 92% (with the first min at 135%) so I was already cooking after the first one. Fortunately itāll be cooler by Saturday in time for 3x30 @ 92% lol
I wish we could get the ground truth on this. I chatted with support and was told that AT would recommended adaptions even it I moved future workouts around to better fit my schedule.
For now, I wait for AT to recommend changes resulting from most recent workout before moving a future workout. And I only move the next oneā¦not an entire block. But I have no idea if this is correctā¦but I am getting AT adaption recommendations so Iām not too worried about it.
Dave
yes, plan builder only.
It would be nice if there was a FAQ for AT. Lots of people ask the same questions. ie can I move a workout.
Did my first workoutā¦Before the workout my VO2 PL was 5.2. Workout I did was 4.7. My VO2 now says 4.7 and says it was an increase of 1.6??? The workout on the calendar now says it was a stretch workout??? and my sprint went from 1.0 to 1.6. The other interesting part is my threshhold was at 1.6 and all workouts from the plan were over 4. After my VO2 workout my threshold dropped to 1.4 and all future threshold workouts were now starting at 1.6.
Looking now at my workouts in the future most of them make sense. There is one that I am certain will get adjusted before I get there but we will see.
Yes. I donāt often cross-post but given the topic hereās part of what I just wrote in the TN thread.
PPS: this is where an FAQ would be really helpful. Pretty challenging (frustrating) to have to read through all the forum comments and see where different posters get from TR support different information, partial information, where information in posts is dated and newer posts have different/updated information, or or posters interpret/replay what they were told in different or contradicting ways.
@IvyAudrain , can you tell us about any plans for FAQs/user guide for both TN and AT?
Just a guess from Nateās Insta screenshot - I think one of the next features that might be coming for general release is HR TSS.
ā¦yesterday got informed that my a-race will take place and today got that TR-email; Iām all in!
At least some good news (with the vaccionation-campaign here in Berlin/Germany completely lost in chaosā¦).
Speaking of āall inā; I have a Question: How is āall outā defined when estimating the training experience?
I did a VO2Max-Training. The last 10 seconds of the last Interval were so hard that I was at the verge of failing. Spot on I would say and call it a āstill sucessful all-out-eventā because I wouldnĀ“t be capable of pedaling any second longer. Nevertheless TR interpretes it as failure?
I saw similar things during my first couple of workouts after being added to the beta. Iām guessing here, since I was a poor tester and didnāt report anything, but I imagine thereās some wonkiness with how AT is being turned on and initial level calculations are done. Iād recommend you report to support and see what they say
I believe thatTR advises you to be consistent with your own reporting, but that universal guidelines are not necessary - so as long as you define all out for yourself and stick to that youāll be fine
That saidā¦if you report it as all out itāll classify it as a failure and ask you why it felt so hard. So for me - this is a challenging question to answer, particularly for very challenging VO2 and Threshold workouts - which often feel extremely āall outā at the end of intervals, so initially I defined several of these as all out, but have since adjusted to reporting them as very hard
There is no standard for what they mean. Itās all subjective and thatās the point. AT is comparing you to you with that, so just stay consistent with how you score and itāll be fine. Because it is purely subjective, you canāt really be wrong.
I donāt believe this is true at all. It is very possible that it being all out is the intention or close enough to the intention of the workout, especially for VO2. By comparison, marking Petit as all out is very different as that would suggest to AT that the endurance level is far too high.
For both VO2 and Threshold workouts where I had 100% compliance (erg mode, everything within range) - when I rate them as āall outā I get the failure survey. Have you rated something in either level as all out and not received the failure survey?
Ditto, I think they are treating an āAll Outā rating as a āHard Pass, Near Failā, hence the āWhy was this so hard?ā Question at the end.
To me, it seems that they are treating AO as a clear indication that the workout was over your ability on the day. The secondary survey aims to understand why and may well alter PL changes as a result.
Seems logical as all out shoud mean all out, to the total failure (like power test) hence not very suitable for workouts
The few times Iāve rated a workout as all out has led to the struggle survey each time as well.
Iām not sure this will work well, especially when outside, unstructured workouts are included in the AT process. I did a long KISS Zwift race last weekend and recorded it as a TR Free Ride as well and entered the response as all out as it most definitely was. Iām not sure that should be seen as beyond my abilities though.
Most races I do, whether shorter crits or longer road races or TTās could be rated as all out but might potentially be some of the most successful rides I do rather than failures.
