Depending on how hot it is when I ride, mine has been flipping back and forth. Last night I rode in the heat for 2 hours and it dropped from 46 to 45, with the obvious “focus on stress, nutrition, and rest” statement that I always get after putting in some easy miles when its hotter outside than body temp.

Tonight I did a dual record for a threshold workout. I got a +3 baseline on my 530 halfway through. I’m curious if that would have been the case had I just used TR and let it load when finished.
I also see my fenix and Garmin edge have two different training statuses. Kind of funky.
I’m did a “free ride” under the indoor trainer option and then used TR on my desktop. I don’t use Erg so this seemed to work fine. Not sure if there’s any benefit to loading the workout to Edge? I just know it changes the workout a bit when going from inside to outside
I tried different approaches but the one that sticks is the following:
- I use my phone to run TrainerRoad and control trainer in ERG mode. It is connected to Strava but no data are pushed there ever (just pulled to see outdoor rides in TR)
- I record all my indoor my rides on Fenix watch in free ride mode - that gives me all the aerobic/anaerobic and training load data in ONE place without need to re-sync between GCM and watch
- I run Zwift on my laptop or tablet for the visual and social experience. When I do a group ride or a race, I just ditch point (1) and let Zwift control the resistance
