Instructional text being hidden by workout summary

Using the iOS app, if instructional text appears right at the start of an interval I can’t read it because the “summary data of last interval” appears above it, which is obviously quite frustrating.

Is anyone aware of any settings or a workaround so I can see the text? I would not mind if I could just turn off the interval summary, but that does not seem possible.

I wish I could turn off the summary. It’s annoying and useless not to mention blocks the instructional text.

There is an existing Feature Request asking for a way to turn off the summaries. Add your comments or “+1” vote there if you’d like.
