Know the feeling! I gave up on short PB having got through sustained PB . I would recommend the OP finishes sustained PB but dropping the intensity 5-10%, OR lowering his FTP number. See topic re MAP for your FTP. Then reconsider his training depending on his events.
I do intend to re-visit Short PB in readiness for the cx season come september, but for the present, I will do xc marathon speciality to get me up to June,July races
