How to change workout types within Plain Builder

I would like to change some of the U/O threshold rides in my Plan Builder-created plan to hard start workouts (Gould is an example of the workout profile I am looking for, not Lion Rock, Owl, Chimneys type). This choice is not part of the “alternates” available and I am afraid that if I just delete the workout recommended by Plan Builder and replace it with a workout that I want then it will be excluded from the algorithm that is designed to prepare me for the upcoming (XCO) event.

Also, which types of Events for which Plan Builder can be requested to build a plan for would likely include such hard start threshold rides?

Hey there,

When using Workout Alternates, you’re only viewing workouts that follow the discipline of your plan, which is why you’re not seeing hard starts in your XCO plan.

If you want those types of workouts specifically, I’d recommend switching your target event to a Cross Country Marathon race instead of XCO. Once your plan adapts, you should see hard start thresholds on your calendar.
