How big is your .... screen

Yeah that is a real issue for me. I ride a recumbent and if I put the tv in front my handlebars split the screen. So I mostly watch things on my iPad which is mounted about 18” in front of my face. Still at a slight angle but acceptable.

I’ve watched everything 07-current on F1tv, and 94,95,96 through whatever sources I could find. Nothing beats it for TR sessions.

Is it bad that it only took 3 seconds to figure out which race was in the picture and what happens in the next camera shot?

But otherwise, this thread has me feeling lame with just a 13" laptop screen for entertainment.

I have a medical adjustable table in front of my Kickr bike. Then just use my laptop for entertainment and my iPhone runs TrainerRoad. If I had more space, I might get a bigger screen

Minimising TR to the bottom of the screen, with fullscreen video, works well for me.

I have a 22". its mounted quite high, on my eyeline when on the hoods, my thinking being that I’d be looking that way if I was riding outdoors and I don’t want to get in the habit of staring at my stem.

I just inherited an old 42’’ Samsung TV as we upgraded one of the TVs in our house.

I currently run TR and Zwift on my iPad and a laptop to watch the shows both sitting on a Wahoo desk.

Do you guys recommend moving to Zwift & TR to the TV using an HDMI cable and how? Thank you!

  • Precisely which device is running which app?

Generally speaking, I like having at least Z on a large screen for deeper immersion. TR can also land there depending on your setup, but is less necessary and could easily remain on the device not ported to the TV.

Porting the laptop to the TV via HDMI cable should be nearly automatic. Connect the cable on both ends and decide if you are extending or duplicating your screens.

Porting the iPad is possible with an adapter, but keep in mind the 4:3 aspect ration repeats to the TV, so it’s not the full 16:9 wide screen.

I use a lightning to HDMI adapter to link my IPad to the TV, but as Chad mentioned you end up with black bars on some apps, others mirror properly and use the full area of the screen.

60 on top for watching stuff
2 below it are 40’s. Zwift and TR.

I would highly advise that when you do multiple TV’s, make sure they are different brands all of them. Otherwise it’s difficult to control one with a remote as the remote will control same brands.

Thank you! My iPad is running the app(s). I was a little worried that I would have duplicate screens but seems like that is not an issue.

Unless you can’t reach your laptop keyboard, or don’t have enough room, why not extend your desktop across both larger screens (laptop and TV) and ditch your tablet? You can then swap content between screens at your own leisure.

Question for the people using TVs, are you just listening over the sound of the fan? I’ve gotten used to noise-canceling earbuds connected to the Laptop or Tablet, not sure I could switch back to the drone. Any hacks to add bluetooth audio output to the TV?

Couple of options…there are BT dongles that plug into any standard headset jack…but there is sometimes some lag to the visual. Check the reviews before buying.

I just use an AppleTV and connect my earbuds to that when watching TV. Dunno if Roku or Chromecast offers similar BT connectivity.

BLE buds for me, connected to the PC that drives the TV.

Roku has “private listening” via app that does this.

Excellent - thx for sharing. I plan to use fulgaz and want to immerse as much as possible - what kind of primary screen would you recommend? Size 40"? Type - does it has to be OLED?

The large screen pictured is a 40" TV (meas. diag). That is plenty big for me but I know many people with smaller and some with larger. Mostly a matter of space and budget to a degree, but the 40" is good enough for me that I don’t plan to change at this point.

I have a 24" monitor that is about 1-1.5 feet away from me.
