Help from the Hive. TrainerRoad and wahoo snap are killing me

  • Yes, Craig did mention both and asked directly, even though it was on the heels of and directed towards another poster.
  • The “factory” or “advanced” spindown (you will see either name mentioned sometimes) is hidden since it is a more time consuming test and largely meant for initial setup. But it seems to resolve a host of issues on the consumer end. It’s hard to access on purpose, but we can only blame Wahoo for that.

For the record, I had already tried the Factory spindown. It did not solve the problem for me. The Wahoo rep I’m speaking with is suggesting it is interference with the Bluetooth signal. I’m a bit skeptical but out of other options. Won’t be able to test it until the weekend, but will report back if I’m able to solve the issue.

It was my understanding that the factory or advanced spindown would only come up the first time a Kickr was paired with the wahoo app, it was for first time setup only. After that it was only supposed to be accessed for troubleshooting purposes, that is why wahoo made it so hard to access.

It’s been long enough since I got my Kickr, I don’t remember for sure, but the Advanced did not come up automatically for me.

I did it manually after cross checking with my P1 pedals and not liking the results. After the Advanced one, everything went better.

That may all be how it was when I got my Kickr17, and could well be different now.
