It’s been a few months since TrainerRoad introduced Zwift integration, and I’m curious: has this helped folks become more consistent in following their plans and completing workouts as prescribed?
From what I see in the TrainerRoad Zwift club, there are lots of Zwifters completing TR workouts daily, so I wonder if overall compliance has improved across the board.
Personally, I’ve found it much easier to stick to my plan. My RPE feels lower even during higher-intensity intervals, and I really enjoy exploring routes and ticking off route badges while completing my workouts.
One small feature I’d love (and I think this would be in Zwift’s scope) is the ability to hide heart rate display during a workout while still recording the data. I feel like that would help with focus — but correct me if I’m wrong on who owns that functionality.
What’s been your experience? Have you found the integration helping you stay on track?
It hasn’t made me more consistent but it has made the workouts more enjoyable and makes them feel a bit easier as you can get distracted from the pain with all that’s going on around you on whichever route you pick
It’s even quicker to start workouts now which helps a lot. Also, I just recently turned off ERG for some workouts and realized I can use Zwift’s virtual shifting instead which is pretty great for VO2 (and all workouts but sometimes it’s easier to save all your focus to just spin and let ERG take care of the target lol).
I’d never been tempted by Zwift, but thought I’d see what the fuss was about once TR integration happened. I lasted a month or so and haven’t been back on it since. Perhaps it’s just me, but I just don’t get it. What am I missing?
