I have Hurd -2 (8x2.5min @ 120% over an hour) on tap again for today. Anyone care to suffer?? If so I can be flexible on start time

Tried to jump in to test it out more and say hi, but I think my internet crashed as soon as it connected. Next time - have a good workout!

I’m only 1/2 way through if you want to try again. just watching a work presentation at the moment, which I’m happy to pause

Would I scale intensity as a function of IF in this case? i.e. run monitor +1 at ~103% (0.87 IF for Donner/0.84 IF for monitor +1)

Monitor +1 is 88-94% (91% average) for it’s FTP %age in the main interval sets.
Donner is 95-99% (97% average) for it’s FTP %age in the main interval sets.

Put that into my little Intensity Adjustment calculator: (ignore the wattage, since that is based on my FTP)

I think you want to set WI around 107%.

That is quick and dirty number, but will get you close to the same power for the sets.

I think that might kill me. How would you adjust for total working set time? Donner has 36 min vs Monitor +1’s 42 min

OK, the other way to check my math…

Open Donner, and scrub along the work sets. Get an idea of the prescribed power and come up with a rough average wattage.

Then open Monitor +1 and check the same wattage range.

Once you know those numbers, you can either manually adjust the WI in the moment. Or, you can run the percentage difference (Donner Watts / Monitor+1 Watts = Percentage you need in the app).

For time, since you are on a standard trainer, you can start and/or end your intervals early/late as need to get more time in zone. You would likely want to end the first one a min or two early, and start a min or two late thru the rest of the workout. (that’s all off the top of my head with no math).

Does that make sense?

Yup, thanks for the insight. See y’all tonight

Bashful +2 Code: 7xx4jc

Thursday @ 4:15 PM MDT, 3:15 PM PDT, 6:15 PM EDT, 11:15 PM BST, 12:15 AM CEST, 9:15 AM AEDT, 11:15 AM NZDT

Bashful +2 is 3 sets of 5x90-second intervals that rise from 121% FTP to 125% FTP.

Recoveries between intervals are 1 minute long and recoveries between sets of intervals are 5 minutes long.

I would have joined you as I have that workout today, but it’s supposed to be sunny and 60 degrees! I’m headed outside.

Yeah, I hear that. Have 30-40mph wind gusts here today so I was indoor.

I’m in as well if I’m not too late. Do I need to put the code in now and leave the app open to secure my spot?

Cheers,
Stewart

We already have a full room with the list I shared above.

We can shoot for next week around the same time?

No worries. If someone drops out I can jump in as I think I’ll do the same session at the same time.

Indeed. I will make sure to post here if we have an opening.

@tnkotwa Looking at these two workouts closer, you could just shut down 1 minute before the end of each interval in Monitor, and be 1 minute different from Donner for time. You could always do one interval full, and then you end up with exactly the same Time in Zone. That is the easiest option I see.

I could be up for that - after today (VO2 ntervals), I am not going to be setting any records, I can hardly walk to the fridge!
What kinda time are you thinking? I can be pretty flexible up to about 4.30pm London-time.

Should be perfect! Anyone else care to join us for a fairly easy hour?
I would be happy with anything from Lazy Mountain through Colosseum -3 up to about Bald Knob (I’m just sorting in TSS order). Once the sessions have any 75% plus, I’m going to have to start cheating!!
