FTP went down since crash

After 7 weeks off the bike due to a crash that tore all my ligaments in my left shoulder I decided to do an FTP Test. Sadly I have lost 45 points since the crash. I am disappointed and was hoping I had not lost that much fitness.

I have a long way to go to get back to previous levels of fitness.

I had a crash in November last year. I was at 260 roughly at the time. I went down to 220 after a month!

It basically wiped out the previous 12 weeks training.

I’ll be honest with you, It took nearly 3months to feel like I was back to that point!! This all happened during winter so my season took a battering before it even started!

Don’t get down though, it will return, you will get stronger and you will get back to fitness!

You’ll bounce back quick enough to the level you were at. Try not to worry about it too much. You’re where you are, get the training in and you might find you can bump up your numbers every two weeks if feeling good.
