Forerunner 955 for tracking energy needs and fueling?

I’ve been fully planted in the Wahoo world for 3+ years now, but recently picked up a Forerunner 955 to sync with lose it for fueling needs.

I lost over 100 pounds with lose it before getting into cycling, and at one point bought the lifetime premium plan for a huge discount. I’ve added about 10 pounds the last 6 months chasing 3 kids around and eating whatever I want, so I recently downloaded it again.

I wanted an easy way to track calorie deficit so I can fuel properly for rides while still trying to slim down. I’m just wondering how accurate these things are as you can see in the attached image my workout calories are scratched out in favor of Garmins calculation.

Is it better to just use the old tried and true power x time x 3.6 and input workouts manually?

Thanks!

Hey there, I’m not sure we can ever say calories in or calories out are accurate but I would say the Garmin and particularly power meter based workouts are as accurate as you are likely to get.
