The ramp test has made it SO much easier to retest but the motivation to push on until failure is much more difficult compared to the motivation to continue until the 20min or 8min test is over.
One way of possibly shifting the motivation would be to have a live ticker during the ramp test showing exactly what your FTP would be if you pulled out that second.
I can’t speak for anyone else but knowing how close I am to setting a new higher FTP would definately help me dig deeper compared to not having anything to shoot for.
What are other peoples thoughts?
