Favero Assioma Users

Having an odd issue with crank length. I’ve changed it on my Garmin and on the app to 175mm. But every week or so, the app reverts it back to the default 172.5mm. Any way to fix this? They’re up to date, and the only apps/devices that use them are the Favero app, Garmin computer, and TR. I don’t think TR has the option, and Favero says the computer will take precedence. And it’s showing up as 175mm on my Garmin.

I am sure you have already seen and tried this:

Yea, my Garmin has the correct 175mm. But the Assioma app still changes it to 172.5mm every so often. The weird thing is that the Assioma app will show 172.5mm, so I close the app and turn my Garmin on, and the Garmin shows 175mm. So it’s almost as if the Garmin isn’t overriding the Assioma app like it’s supposed to. Just annoying because I have to check every few days on the Assioma app to make sure the crank length is correct.

It is most likey just a default in the app. So every time you connect it appears as 172.5. The Garmin is setting it to 175 when it connects. The manaul declares that cycling computers override any previous value so I wouldn’t be worried about it.

I would not fret too much about it. You are probably causing the concern by checking with the app.

With my original Assiomas, they were within a few watts of my Kickr, but I got a warranty replacement, and they need to be set at +2.7% or so for it to match my Kickr.

They wanted me to calibrate my pedals with calibrated weights but that would cost me much more hassle and money than just to set the offset.

anyone else reserve a slot on favero’s website? they say the duos won’t be available for 60 days. really want to train with power outside since starting TR with my cycleops hammer. i see some on amazon for 840 which i assume are priced according to the existing shortage. can’t decide if i want to wait or just eat the cost now.

sigma sport in the uk have just today got new stock in from the manufacturer - might be worth checking when new stock is available directly from favero they must have stock if theyre shipping

Where did you see that? When I look at their website it says 22 June.

The price fluctuates wildly on amazon. It can go from $739 to $840 in a day. I would just add them to your cart then let Amazon pick the best price for you. It will come down by about $100.

Great news. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll order as soon as they give me the option to - they’re just offering to email me when they’re back in stock at the moment.

Ive literally just had them delivered!!

Sigma didnt even unpack the box from Favero, they just chucked that in another box and sent that on to me…!

I’m jealous! Enjoy the new toy.

I was lucky to snag the Unos from Sigma earlier this week before they cleared stock. Gave them a whirl last night to compare my Bkool Smart 2 vs Uno. Seemed a bit bumpy to start with and was wondering if anyone has seen similar results. See below.

I was initially in a higher gear which seemed to give a falsely high power on the Bkool. I dropped a few gears prior to starting the first interval and the variance reduced but still seemed to be around 5-10w.

Fairly certain I have setup the pedals correctly including crank length etc. Wondering if it could be my trainer thats a bit off rather than the pedals.

Has anyone had similar issues?

Crank length is important but I would personally trust the pedal power over any trainer on the market.

Power measured at the pedals should be higher than the power measured at the wheel due to drivetrain losses. The difference will be higher when you cross chain, especially on the small chain ring. The difference should be minimal in the big chainring with the chain as aligned front to back as possible. If you calibrate pedals and trainer after peaking for 10 minutes, then the numbers should be fairly close.

Mine gave me wildly high readings while doing a leisurely ride around the neighborhood during my initial self-calibration ride. The manual says they don’t start sending a signal until they self-calibrate but mine showed around 1000w which is way more than I can generate on my best day sprinting. But once they settled in they were fine.

That makes sense. I was initially geared on the big chain ring and higher gear. When i dropped a few gears to make a straight chain it increased the pedal power closer to the trainer. Based on logic above (which is correct) that doesn’t make sense, its like the power profiles are mixed up. Something seems off as the Bkool trainers are factory calibrated so nout i can do there.

I’ll continue to run them in tandem to try and make sense of the data and move to the pedals exclusively once i can make sense of it.

I bought assioma uno last year and verry pleased with them. I was under the impression that they’re only compatible with look cleats, is this true? I think that only the newer version (2020) is also compatible with shimano. I would like to use shimano cleats instead of Look but not sure that the version I have actually allows for that. Can someone confirm?
