Favero Assioma Pro RS-2 problem

Update 1: Response from Favero to check if the right pedal is blinking when the disconnection happens.

(Left pedal blinks twice every 2 seconds and right pedal blinks once)

Update 2: They told me to do a firmware restart and calibration afterwards; removal from all sensor on my edge and reconnecting (making sure to connect with ant+) and trying again. Still same fault.

Weirdly enough, they asked me to take pictures of both the plastic caps (where the LED are).

Update 3: Support told me they will send me a new right pedal, as some weird data points were extracted from the last test ride.

Since this week I got my new set of RS-2 and the right pedal seems to disconnect after a few minutes and then reconnects automatically.

When watching the garmin (edge 1040) the power and all data is set to 0 while this occurs, but the pedal is still connected. When checking on the favero app, only the left pedal is shown.

Firmware is updated on both to 7.11 and the batteries are full.

Tried refitting the pedals with spec. torque and tried different spacers, everything unchanged. Also tried to set the pedals to one side mode (which works perfectly by itself) and then back to double sided, which disconnects after a while again.

Also tried to set the auto-sleep to one hour, same result.

It strongly seems like the right pedal loses connection to all devices.

Maybe some of you know of this problem and potential solutions, thanks in advance.

An example with the losing connection:

Have you tired Favero support? Edited - I was incorrect. The left pedal is the master, right is the slave

Just a thought, are you checking your phone during the workout? Just thinking it might be stealing the Bluetooth signal.

As I know, the left one is the master and the right is the sleeve. (One-sided mode is left pedal only)

Forgot to mention, I tried both with ANT+ and BT, once while checking indoor on the app at the same time, and outdoor without the phone near it (also both connections)

Already reached out to the support, but no answear so far.

Sounds like you should contact Favero support, not a random internet forum.

Yes, my mistake, I edited my post not to confuse anyone. I mixed them up, yeah no ideas for you other than something might be stealing the signal, but looks like you tested that.

Favero CS should be able to help trouble shoot.

Maybe I am not the only one with this problem, and when favero reaches out to me, this topic may help somebody in the future to solve this issue.

But thanks for your two cents.

For anybody curious, you can restart the PRO pedals too. (I have not found a single post for this so far)

To do so you need to connect the charger with the pedal (until it starts charging) then quickly disconnecting and connecting the charger for about 5-10 seconds until the LED stops blinking when connecting. After about 60 seconds they turn back on.

Nice! Did the hard restart help?

Sadly no, seems like I need to wait another 3-4 days for the next reply…

Anybody curious, after the last ride it seems like the right pedal was sending weird data (extracted from support) so they will send me a new right pedal (without any shipping cost for me).

Good, that was the outcome I was waiting to hear.
