Me too. My latest? âVocal Coach Reactsâ videos. Iâm an old 80âs metal head so I watch the vocal coaches react to the shitty music I liked when I was even dumber than I am now.
Iâve also done Denzel blocks. Tom Cruise blocks. Arnold and Sly blocks, etc. I donât watch TV series, so I have to plunge the depths at embarrassing levels.
It wonât help you that you deleted your post. Here it is:
You were stating that in sweet spot base mid volume part two there is only one VO2 workout and the other workouts would be 4 sweetspot workouts. Again, this is not true.
So as per your past reply:
Thatâs not what you have said and itâs still not true.
To sum it up for you:
SSBMV1 has 5 threshold sessions over the course of 6 weeks. SSBMV2 has 8 (?) threshold sessions and 5 VO2 max session over the course of 6 weeks.
One big problem would be to prove the efficiency, you must have some other plan/methodology to compare with. And there is probably very little data to use for that. So I guess TR has to continue to revert to their own version of (bro)science".
Because it isnât clear - his message is that TR is bad. There is no context which is relevant to TR âdefaultâ plans and how to use them.
As I have said above, the false assumption is that SSB should not have any âhow toâ to go with it, that it must be correct only as it appears in the app.
@mcneese.chad I feel your pain right now having to keep up with this thread ![]()
Alluding to studies is not the same as understanding them and reaching the correct conclusion.
Yes maybe they are already the best to get fit fast. But at least in my opinion for long term adherence and development the plans are hard to follow, more mentally than physically if FTP is correctly set. Instead if you have 2 workouts to nail per week and the rest you go easy I think it could maxmise many peopleâs long term compliance to the plans yielding better overall results.
FWIW I heard Pete saying this already on the podcast so why donât they in-build this in their off-the-shelve product?
EDIT: or at least offer such a plan?
Great comment. We all want a training plan that will be perfect for us, but we donât want to pay for an individual coach, and then we wonder why an off-the-shelf plan didnât work when we ignored what our body was telling us.
Bruce
Thatâs a straw man - no one is arguing that it must âonlyâ be correct as it appears the app. They are arguing that what appears in the app is incorrect.
Not really.
TRâs SSB LV is the best plan for those who are new to TR and new to structured training. The noob gains are real, 25-50 watt FTP increases in 3 months with zero customization.
K but what are the noob gains on the polarized training plan?
Iâd venture a guess that n00b compliance would be very low on a POL plan.
Saturday: âIâm going to skip my 3-4 hour endurance ride and just do a hammerhead group ride.â
Tuesday: âI donât understand why I canât hit my power targets during my VO2max workoutsâ.
So⌠based on your monikor you are saying TR is a market leader ![]()
Bruce
I can only speak for myself but I would rather do whatâs most effective with time available. And as discussed, time-wise the endurance ride doesnât need to be any longer than the SS ride.
That something being publicity.
Popularity != Being right
Lol, thatâs not a TR plan then.
Itâs their plan and their recommendation call that as you will.
Adding additional Z2 rides is not their plan, if it was their plan it wouldnât require you to add additional Z2 rides. Weird.
As expected this thread turned out to be pretty entertaining.
Especially how TR apparently is just some evil money grabbing scheme, purely designed to waste your time and steal your money. ![]()
enough for today ![]()
