Hi all,
I’m looking for a Denver/Boulder area bike fitter. TR has helped me get as fit as ever, and I plan to do some racing in the 40+ open categories next season. I currently like my 3y/o Retul fit, but I’d like to refine my position and consider shorter cranks. I don’t want to change too much without the help of a fitter that knows their stuff. If anybody has experience or recommendations I would be very grateful.
Thanks!
Zach Allison at Brave New Wheel in Fort Collins (not Denver/Boulder) but one of the best in the country and worth the drive.

Curious if you ever went to Zach and what you thought? If not where did you go and did you think the fit was good or worth the money?
+1 for Zach. He was my fitter when I lived in FoCo and he was fantastic. Ivan Ogorman in Boulder is my go to for tt bike fits. If you want something more local to Denver, Natalie and Ashley both at Pedal Fit are also very solid options
Since this post, I have seen Natalie at Pedal fit PT and Charles Van Atta who did a Retul Fit with Denver fit loft (affiliated with TriBella). Both were good. Neither of them moved my fit much. After you have a pretty good initial fit, I’ve since come to the conclusion that fine tuning a fit isn’t worth it for me.
The thing is that after 22 years of riding and racing, I know my fit, and I don’t see myself getting another bike fit for a long time. I assumed that as I got older my fit would become less aggressive. Well…
I got a new bike a couple of years ago. The saddle was put in exactly the same place, but the fork was cut 12mm short of where my old fit was. Darn! Before I could get a new fork, I went on a group ride and what-do-ya-know, no problem at all! So now I have a significantly more aggressive position and I’m still hitting new long-duration power PRs.
Sorry for the tangent, but if you’ve got your saddle where you need it, go as aggressive as you can without having body issues on long rides.
There is also Colby Pearce. A Steve Hogg guy. It’s a bit of a different approach.
Check out Pedal Fit. I go through Ashley King and she does a phenomenal job.
I had my first bike fit in January with Charles Van Atta who did a Retul Fit at Denver fit loft.
The changes were small, but they made a big difference in comfort for me. The two biggest changes were: 1. A spacer under my right cleat to account for that leg being slightly shorter than the other, 2. Some pedal washers to bump the pedals out slightly and let my heels angle inward. We also adjusted the seat a bit (upward) and dropped the stack on my handlebars to add just a touch more aggressive posture. My knees track perfectly now, and I feel super anchored.
Post-fit, I took all the measurements and transferred them to my stages SB20, and WHOAH was I out of wack on that bike, haha. Since dialing everything to match my fitted bike (Crux), I’ve felt far more comfortable and have been putting in the best rides of my life. I’m sold on fits.
While the first fit is expensive, the next fit is far less (like half price), because Charles has all your numbers. I’ll be going back next month for a fit on my Epic.
Zach is a nice guy. Ivan is wildly overrated. That guy is so overpriced for the experience. No idea how someone can charge that much and not even do a physical assessment for mobility or flexibility etc. I found a PT in Boulder who does bike fits so I am going to go to her in June and fingers crossed I get some results.
