Seems that bug is happening for other SL models as well. I emailed them to see if that is a bug or not. Quite a great deal if it is intentional, but I’m guessing it is a mistake.
I emailed them asking about it and said they would not honor the ‘mistake’ on pricing. It’s been well over a week later and it’s still happening.

Pactimo Summer Sale - lots of stuff on sale, and up to 75% off in the Discontinued Outlet
Heads up deal hunters. REI is going to have one of their big member sales (20% off coupon) plus 10% back at the end of the year for members. Starts May 16th.
Great time to score a trainer, bike, etc.
(I also found that I have some rewards points on my CC and I can buy REI gift cards for 10% off so I’ve got a new trainer queued up.)
Edit: EXTRA 15% BONUS. REI is offering a 15% bonus on gift cards $120+. So, one can buy the gift card first and then buy whatever with it on the 20% off sale.

Edit 2: I read the fine print:
Discounts not valid on bicycles or bike simulators
I still may do the 15% gift card + 10% member credit back because that will still be my lowest price on a Kickr Core.
Important to keep in mind that any coupon applied to an items negates the 10% member dividend on that item.
This usually gets me. The dividend seems great, but they have so many sales I rarely get anything full price.
Good to know!
If I use the 15% off gift card deal, I’m still buying the trainer at full retail and it’s still the best deal I’ve found on a new Kickr. I can also use that 15% off to pay for the sales tax and shipping.
Kickr Core $500 (-15% $425)
+$45 sales tax
+$30 oversized shipping
$575
$575 gift card - 15% = $488.75 all in.
-future member bonus $50 = $428.75

That means that one could buy a gift card to purchase a Garmin, a bicycle or any other device where they don’t allow 20% off coupons.
I may call customer service to see if I the digital bonus can be stacked with other gift cards. There might be some other gotchas in there.
REI heads up: they let me apply the 20% off coupon to a Wahoo Kicker trainer. I’m good to go.
I screwed up. I forgot to buy a $500 gift card yesterday at 15% off. I can buy one through my credit card rewards for 10% so I’m doing that.
That will put me under $400 for a new Kickr Core.
Peak Izumi is 25% off right now including stuff already marked down
Was the 15% off deal for REI gift cards only for yesterday?
Ended on the 15th.
I’m surprised that REI doesn’t advertise this more. It wasn’t very prominent on their web site the other day.
They are basically offering you 20% off plus 15% extra off which can be stacked but it takes enough planning that you have to buy the 15% off gift card before the sale.
Ah dang. Well I will have to try that next time. Definitely a clever way to get a really good deal.. Still looking at some of their cycling shoes which are pretty good deals ATM.

I read some funky fine print on the gift card deal and didn’t buy one. I think it said they couldn’t be used until the day after the sale ended. I might have misread that, but it was the 11th hour so I passed. Would love to know if anyone had success using them DURING the sale.
Maybe it was the 15% bonus part couldn’t be used until after the sale?
It seems like once you buy a $100 gift card, you’d have the ability to put the $100 on your account immediately.
