With all the questions about Flyte bibs it made me wonder if there’s any proper reviews out there, found one: Review: Pactimo Men’s Flyte Bibs | road.cc

Summary is that they felt they were very comfortable but had serious concerns about the longevity. I haven’t had mine long enough to be able to comment on the longevity, but their big concern was against a price of £205 which is insane.

I’d never buy Flyte’s for that (equivalent of $260 usd) because for that price I could just buy Rapha’s which I know will last. $80 is a completely different calculus.

I just received the Range Vector Cargo Bibs. I tried them on and that was enough for me to order another pair, especially at that price.

just putting them on they were felt very comfortable. The other thing I like is their cargo pockets are much bigger than other cargo bibs I have. It’s not that I need to store 10 gels in there but a bigger pocket just allows me to get my hand in there easier to fish out gels especially if I have a glove on.

the range vector cargo is a lot better than the alpine tights and thermo bib which both have pockets but the alpine pockets are really flimsy, not the range vector cargo

Is this real? Epic EVO for $2399 down from $4000?

Yup, real per their main Spesh site:

Just note that at least on the Spesh site, it is only XL as they are way down on inventory.

Pactimo has a buyer guide that tells the different chamois in the model line. The Flyte is a slightly different bib with the same chamois as the 8 hr.

Wow. 40% off on the Evo Expert. Makes me wish I wouldn’t have bought my Evo Comp for full price 9 months ago :frowning:

It is pretty wild that 2019 to 2020 the Epic Evo Comp went $4000 to $4800, and now they’ve crashed down to $2999. I really thought the post-COVID prices were here to stay, and I was forever priced out.

I unfortunately already hitched my wagon to the hardtail cart, thinking that Epic Evo’s/BlurTR’s were just out of my price range forever.

I wonder how much of these discounts are a post-COVID Boom crash and how much are just a one time inventory dump before they announce the new Epics. I’ve seen Feb 6th as an estimated date so one week out makes sense to try to clear some things out.

The Flyte bibs don’t have a Long option. Are these naturally long or standard?

They’re pretty long compared to other Pactimo offerings. I think even longer than the normal “long” bib options.

Definitely a dump… but I think people are done paying crazy prices. Manufactures have been forced to slash prices as well (i.e. Fox).

What is crazy is you can get a low spec’d bike not much more than just the frame! Tarmac SL7 for $3800. Low spec but were prices that low during Covid?

Having the same regrets except I bought a Yeti SB115.

No, they got asking price on bikes in Covid

Most people waited also to pay full price

$3800 is the current asking price for a Tarmac SL7 Shimano 105… not on sale.
Has MSRP been that low recently? Maybe lower prices (with lower spec) here to stay?

Wasn’t the SL7 with 105 around $2400 pre-covid?

Edit: Correction, the SL6 was the model offered in 105 pre-covid, not the SL7

I know the sl7 with di2 ultergra was like 7800

I think a lot of this huge % discounting is down to the fact that they raised MSRPs to absurd and unsustainable level during the shortages. Specialized in particular was a big offender. The in 2023 we saw MSRPs start dropping, and they are continuing to do so. So what you have now is unsold stock that you have to discount heavily just so it’s not more expensive than some comparable 2024 models. And then discount it some more because it’s old stock and offerings have changed. Many people want SRAM T Type on their new bikes now, so this Epic becomes a tougher sell.
