Hey question on some trainers, The H3 is at $849 with your discount code, The Direto 2 is at $640. I have seen your and the other reviews on these trainers. In your opinion what is the best deal here? I am coming from a KKRM. So anything at the level of those 2 trainers is probably going to be a big upgrade for me. I just want to be sure i get one that will be a good long term investment. I have always had good luck with Saris as a company. Just don’t know much about Elite. Thanks and always appreciate your videos!
I have the Direto and at that price I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. However the H123 seem to be the best bang for the buck and at the price you reference, I probably would have gone that route initially. If the price difference is meaningful the Direto should treat you well, but I would go for the H123.
I had the power drain issue on my right pedal so switched my Duo to Uno on the head unit and away I went. At the end of the day I think I could have bought the Uno and been just as happy. I don’t even look at L/R balance.
Not sure if it’s still live but it’s also worth trying the discount code GSFriends10 for another 10% off. I got some of the Bahrain Merida bibs and they are awesome, have paid 3 times more in the past and not been as impressed with the quality.
Big Daddy Newt posted the outlet where I just got a TOC jersey (Green Snow). There’s also the Assos factory outlet at www.swissiconic.com. Merlin and Competitive Cyclist usually have discounted Assos too. Oh, and sometimes the best sales are directly from Assos under the Archive Sale section.
If I remember right, CleverTraining had a 20% off sale around this time last year. It could be worth holding off for that to get a bit more of a discount. I’m also hoping to grab the Duo this fall.
Clever Training does have 20% off one item for VIP often just before Black Friday week (so… soon). They typically do the same in the Spring - check www.dcrainmaker.com for past posts about the sale week and details.
Do note that some items are normally excluded, including the Assioma DUO. In reality it is really 10% off normal prices with them if you use VIP because you generally get a 10% discount (similar to REI dividend program).
–edit–
Actually if you read the first ~6 posts of this thread itself you see it was started with the CT sale last year and some noted the exclusions then.
