I bought this same one. Happy with it so far. Only used it a a couple of times, as I’m a newb and don’t change out major components often, so I’m not torqueing frequently.
I have one like this under a different brand name. Probably not as exacting, but I’ve not doing anything that requires critical torque specs that I bother to send my torque wrenches out to be calibrated.
LeCol is having a pretty solid sale and you can get a free vest with your first order: Get a free SPORTS GILET at Le Col
They always have Strava deals going too, I just got $60 off a pair of pro bibs.
Took advantage and got the Pro bibs and a mesh jersey for hot riding, around $200 shipped with the Strava code and sale price.
Gotta say, the Hors Categorie II bibs are my favorite that I own. Just did 200mi a little over 12hrs saddle time in them and had zero (I mean ZERO) discomfort. Just chamois cream before the ride and no soreness or anything. Never tried Rapha, but I’d have a hard time believing it’s better, for me at least.
Do lecol jersery have zipper pockets? Based on the photos it doesnt look like they do
My aero jersey from them LeCol has a zipper pocket. The aero-look Strava jersey from earlier this year did not (but for $35, I can’t complain). I think most of their ‘top’ jerseys probably do but better to ask them directly on anything specific.
Also the Pro Air jersey I just got (basically a mesh hot weather jersey) has a zipper pocket.
USWE has 33% off today. It is “one day only” and I actually saw it late yesterday - but pulled the trigger this morning so it was still working.
Grabbed a much slimmer alternative to the Sherpa-esque Osprey I usually ride with.
Whats the difference between the outland and outlander pro?
I went with the Pro because it had the 2L bladder - the other one has 1.5L bladder but had some on-pack storage.
The pro is almost for just water carry. There’s an inside zipper pocket but it doesn’t seem to be meant for much more than phone, ID, etc - small things.
We’re seeing more and more bike sales. Yetis are on sale by $1,200 -
Pro has limited adjustment and is meant as a pure race bag. More liquid, no storage. I got the Pro last season and had to put it in storage for a few months as I got down to race weight and reduced my weight training. I think they recommend a chest limit akin to a shirt size.
As a follow-up to my earlier posts about SiS price increases, as long as you don’t mind expiration dates being close - you can currently get orange gels for a little bit over $1 each (84 gels for $89)
Code US20, orange gels on clearance
You can use code SISCP25 for 25% off and find someone to refer be referred for extra gels. In addition topcashback has as 12.6% cashback
Orange ones for me are meh. Off the sis bandwagon as still like the products but decided to make my own bottles and my go to instead of gels for a while now are the prepackaged rice krispy treats I get from costco.
You can get a free Specialized bottle with your name on it from thefeed.com, if you spend over $65, and you then get 25% off all GU products by getting the bottle. Free shipping over $50.
I spent $53 on GU, which was all discounted by 25% to get down to $53, and the bottle was free (as the original order was over $65) and shipping free.
Just FYI - I have done this before and SIS gels do go bad. I’m not saying it’s day of expiration, but maybe 6 months later (or whatever) and they can get nasty.
Thanks. I’m loaded up right now on gels as I’m mostly using my own fuel drink mix and then adding one or two gels as I’m really riding outside for longer rides once a week. During the week I’m usually just a couple harder sessions but like an hour so no gels for that.
All I could do to not pull the trigger on one…but I have more hydration packs than I’ll ever need.
But man that buckle / strap system looks so damn nice.
