Is there a way to change the frequency for how often de-load weeks (or rest weeks) are applied to your training plan? I am using the “Getting Faster for Zwift Races” plan this winter and it applies 3 “on” weeks followed by 1 rest week. I feel like I would be better served by 4 “on” weeks before a rest week is applied. Before joining TR, I found my biggest gains came from 4 week threshold blocks followed by a rest week. I’m 3 months in with TR and am not seeing any gains to my FTP despite setting my plan to “demanding” and doing a pretty good job of not deviating from the plan. I think the duration of the blocks is a key reason why I’ve hit a plateau and would like to change things up to see what happens.
You might consider experimenting with customizing your training approach differently. “Demanding” across the board doesn’t always mean more progress for every athlete. Some people need more recovery and actually progress faster with less intensity and more recovery. I found that I got my best results with setting Endurance and Sweet Spot to demanding and everything else to Balanced with only 2 intensity days a week.
AFAIK there’s no way to customize training block length though. That could be a good feature ![]()
