Custom Workout creator. Can't find it

I cannot seem to find the option to create a custom Workout. I read the article on TrainerRoad on how to create a custom Workout. It says it should be at the bottom of the screen under the workout tab. I cannot find it. I do have the Windows app installed, I am not using the browser based version.

Its still a separate app.

So you are aware - I looks like custom workouts are not yet being counted by the new AI system.

Apparently it’s a known issue and is being worked. But wasn’t fixed (for me) as of today.

I just tried this myself …
Maybe I have been spoilt on the Zwift one….but the fact that its its own App, and looks like MS DOS at login in (and is then a nightmare to use) is a rare mis-step from TR (in my opinion).
They clearly dont want you to do custom workouts !

Has this been fixed yet? I do almost exclusively custom workouts and i took a huge drop in my AI ftp

I submitted a ticket to Support on this. Here’s the response:

“Custom Workouts will no longer contribute to your athlete levels. We aren’t able to verify the accuracy of these levels for custom workouts, so we are no longer displaying them. You will only see these levels change when completing TrainerRoad workouts.

However, with these new updates, workout recommendations now look beyond your athlete levels, taking into account all of your recent and historical training data. We have kept the Athlete Levels as a way to monitor your progress, but they no longer impact your Workout Recommendations.

Your custom workouts will be taken into account in the same way as all other sessions on your calendar, by analyzing the power data and completed work to assess your performance. This is then used to recommend future workouts so they are at the correct level.

You can continue to use custom workouts moving forward, and these will still be ‘counted’ for your workout recommendations, AI FTP Detection, Fatigue Detection, and AI FTP Prediction. You just won’t see changes to your athlete levels as a result of completing them.”
