Coros Dura Cycling Computer - Support

Any chance we’ll eventually get support so we can push workouts to Coros Dura?

+1 for this.
Or would it be possible to push to trainingpeaks and get the workout into Coros that way?

I looked into this and atm I don’t think you can publish workouts to TP, it only syncs activities from TP → TR. Really hoping we see pushing workouts to Coros soon though - since TR is getting more into the running game especially it makes sense for them to integrate with Coros.

+1 to this too. Would love to have them be able to be loaded automatically. Looks like the only way now is to create the workouts manually and load them as needed.

+1 for the feature request. Coros already supports structured workout sync from e.g. TrainingPeaks. Should be straight forward to hook up their API.

Any update on Coros Dura support? I have to say that even the latest Garmin generation is absolute garbage in comparison with the Coros. The only thing that doesn’t work is the TrainerRoad workout integration. Please TR fix this gap…

How so? Granted I don’t use most of the features of my garmin edge 1040 but curious how the Coros is better

Sure. While I can list some reasons that come to my mind, it’s simply the overall handling of the device and the app that is so much smoother. I still have my Garmin but will sell it in the moment that TrainerRoad makes its outside workouts compatible with Coros Dura. It’s almost like comparing a Mac and a Windows. The Coros is truly purpose built for cyclists whereas the Garmin seems to be built on evolutions of software from the 90ies.

But here a list of specific aspects where the Coros Dura is better than a Garmin:

  • It never lags in any mode. It never crashes. Plenty of reports of Garmin users and myself, it’s almost a joke when you think about how this is being normalized only because Garmin is a market leader (in volumes sold).
  • The battery on the Coros seemingly never runs out. I did an ultra and have been training 10h since for two weeks. The battery is at 50% now.
  • Setting up the coros with its screens is so easy. Customization of screens is way more intuitive.
  • The map + extra data fields options make sense and are easier to read than on the Garmin screen.
  • There’s not a single feature from Garmin that I would miss so far on a Coros Dura. It does the same but better. It may sound like an ad but it also surprised me big time being a life-long Garmin user previously.

Any navigation issues?

Ive had the edge 1040 for 3 years. I’ll likely keep it for awhile but I wouldn’t consider myself a garmin fanboy and have been curious about the coros

No navigation issues at all. Turn-by-turn works really well. Navigation arrows don’t block the whole screen which is a plus. I recall that Coros patched its navigation after the release so the initially reported nav issues from back then are outdated. I only bought the device this year to be fair but its been a smooth ride entirely so far.

With the recent collab between Coros and Wahoo, is there a change the Dura has future?

We’re working on a Coros integration now!
