Constant clearing of the nose after intervals

Does anyone else have this “issue”? I feel like in all my interval sessions as soon as I hit the rest window I do the same procedure each time… Situp + spin, breathe, bottle up, blow my nose.

I just have this feeling like pogacar doesn’t constantly have a runny nose, last summer this lasted all the way into the heat of july outdoors… Blowing my nose on 30c days as if it was the middle of winter.

It’s a bit of a nuisance at this point and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or has any kind of idea about what could be causing this chronic nose drip.

Are you indoors, outdoors, both?

Mine does it when the fan is blowing on my face. I turned that fan off and it stopped. :man_shrugging:t2: Unfortunately I am just going to have to live with it.

Happens to me too indoor and outdoor, not much I can do about it just learned to accept it.

As others have said, I have learned to accept it. In fact, it is so ingrained, that if it doesn’t happen, I feel like perhaps it wasn’t a quality workout. :man_shrugging:

This reminds me of an idea I had a while back for making a wearable “snot-rocket-pocket” that could be worn when training indoors to increase the realism of the experience. This would allow realistic launching without soiling your pain cave.

Ask your PCP about getting a prescription for ipratropium nasal spray to use before you exercise. Game changer for me.

I wish it was just during intervals. It’s often called rhinitis, swelling of the stuff in the nose that makes it run.

My nose runs pretty much all year, all the time, and worse during exercise and cold. I’ve mostly accepted it by now.

Yep, always a soaked snot rag at the end of indoor rides, regardless of intensity. Pretty much same outdoors, frequent snot rockets. Varies by time of year and cold temps make it worse. I’m mostly a mouth breather when training, I understand that makes it worse also. I do nasal steroid spray, but it doesn’t stop it.
