For other fellow Canadiens in here, I just picked myself up one of these! Time to upgrade the Gaggia

Yeah it’s funny, I’m glad my taste for expensive coffee stops with a simple pour over. Makes my tastes seem downright affordable compared to all the at home barista setups here!

There’s not much to talk about with pour over though, once you figure out how you like your brew it just comes down to the bean.

For those who buy fresh beans: how much do you buy/have in your possession at any given time?

I try to only have one bag at a time so I don’t have any beans that stale but went to a roaster that was a little far from em so I got ahead of myself and got three bags.

I heard of freezing beans but never tried it. What is your “bean supply” strategy?

Buy fresh beans here, five bags at a time, last about 5 weeks in our home, don’t note any decrease over this period of time.

Also rate the Aldi No3 beans, they are probably a year or two old, find them just as good, my backup in case I forget to order fresh beans…

I make espresso and with some beans notice the crema is significantly flatter after 2+ weeks. But I guess crema doesn’t matter that much.

I keep one pound and that last about a month…
by the end, you can tell the coffee is not as fresh.

The updated setup with my Profitec 500 replacing the Gaggia. The espresso is actually similar out of both machines but the steaming is worlds apart.

Hello all…
I ran into this flat burr grinder on Kickstarter…
I backed it up… reviews seem to be a solid option…

It looks stunning! I’m a huge coffee enthusiast myself. At home, I’ve got a cozy little setup that I absolutely love. And at work, we’ve got a pretty nifty workplace coffee machine that keeps everyone fueled throughout the day. It’s great to see how everyone personalizes their coffee corners.

Here is mine -

Our 11 year old Jura recently gave us an error message and shut down. There are a handful of repair/refurbishment companies who can fully refurb these Juras. Packing our up today after group ride for full refurb.

On the topic of coffee setups, does anyone have recommendations for cycling branded or cycling linked flat white cups? I currently have some Assos branded espresso cups but looking for something in the 150-180ml range (5-6oz).

If you find, please let me know… I only have an Ironman coffee mug, but it would be cool to find a cycling one.

Not sure if they have the size you are looking for or not - but I have a great espresso mug from them.

Love those!
