Coffee - Show us your set up

I just pulled out my mocha pot after watching a few videos on how to use it properly.

I still need to dial the grinder, but man… First try was better than most other times I’ve use it… Very strong, but very good to taste… Used the 6 cup size…too much for me…next time I’ll try the 3 cup version…

Several things…
I followed this video…

Works great!
It is not a put in the stove and forget tho… It takes about 3 minutes which is not horrible

Have you seen James Hoffman’s video on his preferred Moka Pot method (assuming this would be the same as your Mocha Express)?

Moka Pot / Aeropress is my go to at home

Edit… scrolled further down to your next post! HA

I should have said mocha pot… Not sure why I said eSpress …

:man_facepalming:

The process is slightly different than Hoffman’s.
Both works well

Finished off my latest mods. Only real visible one is the pressure gauge which was a PITA to plumb properly, but I got it eventually. At this point I think I’m done tinkering for a while.

Nailed it today using the 3 cup moka pot!

Excellent coffee!

i still pull out the moka pot once or twice a year just to switch things up.
it was the first “real” coffee brewing equipment i bought, along with a nespresso milk frother that was a bloody pain in the ass to clean.

not really sure where grind sizing is supposed to be on the moka pot though so i’m sure i’m leaving quality on the table.

Coarser than espresso, finer than pour over…

Today i used slightly higher than espresso, but I think it could have been finer

The K supreme makes coffee that is as good as premium grind pour over.

Interesting.

Brazil is not know for their coffee?

not an attach on you, but towards industry in general;
how the hell are pods still allowed? The waste from them is insane.

I can never take offense over coffee

My grinder is busted at the moment, so I’ve been using the insane amount of Starbucks gift cards my wife received during the holidays. I am not a fan of Starbucks, but it’s free and could be much much worse…

Anyways. One of the reason I don’t like Starbucks is because they always overheat the milk. I need to let the coffee rest for a long time and then it taste weird.

Today i asked the barista to not over heat the milk… And she look at me and told me with a total straight face “ah, you mean kids steam?”. At this point I am wtf did you just said? Then i told her " It is actually called the correct way to steam milk, but if you want to over heat and call the correct way kids…by all means, you do you, so yes kid steam"…

I mean, i said that on my head because I am not a complete asshole… But man, it really irritated my coffee snobbery

I’d never thought about that but their drinks can be really hot, compared to say a milk drink that I make at home. I’ll have to pay attention to what they steam in, my pitchers would be way too hot to hold if I over did it like that. I’ll probably forget before I’m there again…

Man, they better be awesome for $80! Now I sort of want one.

Bahahah that is funny and I cannot remember the last time I bought a coffee outside of my house. My cafelat robot, forte bg and bellman working well. Probably buying a MK4 for travel and have a deal if I make budget for Q1 at my job my boss is buying me a decent. Looks promising.
