I did Clingman’s Dome today, and Chads comments suggest changing the trainer setting to “slope” mode out of erg mode. Setup is a KIckr 17 with a GalaxyS7 phone. Any idea how to change the settings on the trainer on the fly?
If you want to switch trainer modes mid-ride, just click the green “Devices” button on the bottom right of the screen. Then, select your trainer and change to “standard” mode in the settings. Once you’re done, hit the back button to return to your workout.
I do this by clicking on the “KICKR” in the “Devices” (lower right of workout screen), and hitting the “Resistance” mode. You may need to play with resistance % to dial in a cadence/gear/power target.
