Canyon Bikes Experiences?

This is the bike I have and I love it! I thought I wanted the Aeroad but after test riding one at the Canyon showroom in Carlsbad, I decided to go with the Ultimate as I wanted the additional compliance and felt it would be better suited for the 3-5h rides I do most weekends. Don’t get me wrong, the Aeroad was an absolute weapon and would’ve made an insane crit bike but it was tight as a drum which gave me concern about long rides. I put Hunt 44/54 Aerodynamacist wheels on the bike which was a nice performance improvement but I do feel crosswinds more than expected. It was a bit unnerving at first but I’ve gotten used to it.

You can’t adjust the stem length and let’s hope you don’t crash, hitting the bars.

I had a minor crash last year and my Enve bars took a good hit. Enve swapped them without issue. Seems like if the same crash happened and I was riding a Canyon, I just have to wait indefinitely or buy another bike :man_shrugging:

Just pointing out the downsides of their approach with these new bars.

If they don’t maintain stock of these cockpits (e.g. if you want to purchase to get a different stem length), how would they be able to offer a replacement if you crashed? Seems risky to me. :man_shrugging:

Nice, after a awful experiance with a Trek Madone 9.5 (never buy another trek / bontrager product in my lifetime), I snap bought a Canyon Aeroad in order to save my summer and have a bike to ride/race, love it, great bike to ride but it’s the old design and rim breaks, so just before I went on a road trip and the forecast was going to be rain the entire time and it was going to be hilly, I bought a disc brake Endurance, I do wish I’d sold the Aeroad (love it still) and bought a disc ultimate

Lovely bike

PS for me, in my experiance, Canyon customer service has been way better than Treks, 1) I’ve never has to use it because of a problem with the bikes, 2) when I did use it to ask about how to get a couple of aero spacers, they sent them for free

My beloved Endurace on today’s ride. Great potential for a fantastic ride if I hadn’t had a dinner based on cheese and oil dripping bruschetta bread. I could barely stand on the bike, let alone pedal. Gotta wake up early tomorrow to make up for it…

I run an aeroad with the 62mm dishes and also live in a windy area. The only problem ive ever had with them was from a wind gust over 40mph. Otherwise, I dont even notice them. Although, if youve never ridden on dishes before, itll be different than a non-dish, but it is by no means a hindrance to my ride.

My experience with Canyon is that they never seem to have any bikes in stock. How do they run their business? I created a Notify Me alert for the Canyon Endurace AL 7, and got an email today (on my phone) at 1130 to say it was back in stock. I sat down in front of my laptop, booted it up, navigated to their website and to the Endurace page and it was already saying there was no stock. I think Canyon make nice looking bikes but their business is a bit of a clown show. Either enable people to order so you can build to order and guarantee delivery, or order enough stock to meet demand. Other bike brands must be laughing themselves sick at the way Canyon do business, as I’ll almost certainly now buy from another brand.

I believe the Endurance 7 is one of their main sales. They might have a rapid flow on those bikes. Plus, no one wants to pile up stock those days. Sometimes a loss of sale is better than a warehouse full of bikes, maybe that’s their point now.

My Ultimate CF SLX is 5 years old now, Canyon been great, few niggles like supplying the wrong derailleur hanger when new, they were very helpful when I broke the fork, was out of warranty and they supplied it at cost.

I was thinking the same. It’s getting where we need to specify our country with some of these companies. Kind of like the whole “Tacx vs. Wahoo support” thing.

I’m in the UK.
