I’d like to share some feedback regarding workout association in the iOS app.
Previously, it was possible to associate a completed ride or activity directly to a planned TrainerRoad workout from within the iOS app. This was a very convenient workflow when completing an outdoor ride or an activity that should count toward a scheduled workout.
Now, as far as I can tell, the only way to do this is:
Open the activity details.
Be redirected to the web browser.
Use the web interface to associate the activity with the planned workout.
This feels like a significant step backward in terms of user experience, especially for mobile-first users. What used to take a few taps in the app now requires switching contexts and using the browser.
Is this functionality planned to return to the iOS app? If not, I’d strongly encourage the team to consider bringing it back, as it made post-workout management much faster and more intuitive.
So this might not be related, but I don’t like coincidences.
I just struggled with associations myself on Sunday, and it’s because my bike ride was recorded in Garmin as part of a triathlon workout. You get the bike workout separately transmitted to TR as you would want, but it doesn’t allow associations because it’s not seen as a “cycling activity”.
So perhaps check what kind of activity was recorded?
