I’ve been using an ironing board for 3 years and still going…

Amazon has these. Purchased one and it’s really sturdy. Went from using a DJ stand to it, half the price of the Wahoo stand. Looks like the same model at wiggle and other sites.

Hi mate,

How have you found using this desk after using it another 6 months? Would you still recommend it as an option?

Works perfect. It is a little wobbly if you have a cat jump on to it  but otherwise it is a good size, really cheap, and is adjustable. If you’re going to put something heavy on it you might look for a different one but for an iPad or laptop this works great.

Purchased this and it works great! Gets the tablet out from under my sweat (had my phone on my bars prior). Great cheap option, thanks!

Thanks for the reply. It seems like I would be using it in a similar way to you (minus any potential cat issues) so you’ve helped me make my decision. Appreciate you taking the time to reply.

My wife found a small table that mounts to the wall and folds up/down for $30 on amazon. I put it at a height about 8" above my bars and I’ve been in business for about 2 years.

I’ve been using a Computrainer for years and use a full desktop computer, desk, large monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. It’s a huge setup. Recently I bought a kickr Snap and love using my phone/ipad to control everything with a nice minimalist setup. I would like to have a small table or stand to put my phone and towel. I see good reviews for the Wahoo desk, but it’s expensive!
What are you guys using for a stand/desk? I think even a small music stand on a tripod would work, but I’m tempted to make something out of wood or PVC and including a small power strip (charging phone), and coat hook for holding a small towel, etc.
What’re you using? Lets see some pics!

I also have the Conquer stand from Amazon and can recommend it.

As mentioned above by @Bikeguy0 there’s this option:

I purchased one and it works really well. I have my tablet, bose speaker and towel on it while I ride. Cheap and functional!

A buddy made two DIY desks for me from 2x4 and 1/4 plywood. They have seen regular use for over two years and no issues. The casters on the bottom are a nice touch to roll it back over my handlebars if I desire access to the keyboard.

So here’s my set up. The stand is actually a furniture piece meant to display a bust or perhaps a vase of followers. the small table to the right of my bike is a folding TV diner table. Didn’t cost me a dime since these items were in the house and not being used for anything special.

Has anybody used one of these? Seems like a cost effective stand for a tablet stand to use while on the trainer. $250 for the Wahoo desk (or even $130 for some of the other ones) seems F ridiculous to me.

Am I missing something?

Sure this will work. I just grabbed my iron board and placed my IPad on it. The aerodynamics aren’t that great but it was free.

I have a similar music stand but opted for one with legs that fold. It works great.
It turns out I have not used it all that much since not too long after I got it I switched from using a laptop to the iPhone app for TR and an Apple TV for Zwift. But, the stand was plenty sturdy enough for a laptop and I still put a tablet on it now and then. As long as you get a good one with a tray part that goes flat, (looks like yours fits the bill) these make an awesome little table. I really can’t see why these are not used more.

You could also build a desk for probably $20 worth of lumber.

The Kickr Desk is definitely expensive but I have come to really find it useful. The wheels are nice and fluid and allow for easy movement. The slots for phone/tablet are practical. The only downside is the exclusion of a USB port. Well that and the price. But if you can get passed the price point it’s a solid piece of gear for the indoor setup.

This.

I built a stand / desk out of PVC and a slab of wood for the top. Cost me less than $15, I think and less than 30 min to put together. I’ll see if I can find my pic of it.

ETA - found an early version of it. I have since lowered it so that it slides under the brake levers.

Nope. They’re excellent. I’ve used the cheapest possible myself for years, and will continue to do so.

Nice!
