Auto accept adaptations under Adaptive Training (AT) - Feature Request

Not at this time. We’ll be sure to post here in the future if we do!

I just got a bump in FTP through AI, and the rest of my training plan rides all decreased in intensity. Glad it did not auto adapt. I declined them.

For what it’s worth, this is intended behavior.

Progression Levels automatically adjust downwards after an FTP increase. This is because two factors affect the difficulty of a workout: your FTP and the Workout Level. If either of these factors increases, the scheduled workout gets harder.

By reducing your Progression Levels (and in turn, upcoming Workout Levels) we can offset the sudden increase in workout difficulty traditionally associated with FTP increases. As a result, we can more accurately serve you the right workouts for your current capabilities, to keep your training on track and ramp up the difficulty of your workouts at a sustainable rate.

With all that said, be mindful of how you’re feeling as you get into your workouts with your updated FTP and don’t be afraid to back things off a touch if the intensity of your sessions suddenly feels too high.

Without TR being able to take into account outside unstructured rides for PLs, I’m not sure why you would want the system to automatically adapt. Yesterday my plan had a low-level (2.3) 1.5 hour sweet spot workout scheduled. Instead of doing that, I did a 2-hour unstructured ride with friends that ended up being a .92 IF. But because I skipped the low-level sweet spot workout (but did a much harder and longer unstructured outdoor ride instead) AT wanted to look ahead 1 week and lower the PL of my next sweet spot workout to make up for the one I skipped. I declined the adaptation.
