have been using TR for a couple years now and still waiting for that apple tv app. any updates on this request?
i use to be in the I want An apple TV app, so i airplayed my ipad to the tv….well then i was all, why do i want 42 inches of TR? Instead i just us TR on and ipad in front of the TV and stream stuff on the tv. So much better. But thats just me

We don’t have anything in the works for Apple TV right now. Since most devices can cast/mirror to Apple TV, it isn’t super high on the list in terms of priorities right now.
If you let me know what device you are using, I can point you towards resources that will explain how to cast/mirror to your Apple TV if you are not doing that already!
I started this thread a long time ago and finally came up with something that I think will work instead. The Apple TV app seems easy enough to do but really I want a simple stand alone solution for TR dedicated to a tv without a lot of fuss.
I think this computer on a stick will work, there are usb slots for ANT+ and a keyboard

I think it’s even better than an Apple TV solution because you can have windows to stream music or videos too.

I built a mini computer setup on a 60" TV in '19 using this
The unit is small enough to fit behind the TV and will literally support anything I want plus plenty of USB drives for whatever I need.
Just throwing it out, its been great and I will stream TV, run TR and have music playing all at once with it and it doesn’t blink an eye.
I went with this originally because I thought I wanted to Zwift/RGT or whatever while running TR but after one ride on those I decided that virtual riding was not for me and Id rather do something else while on the trainer.
Hi, I’ve just bought myself a new 4K Apple TV and hooked it up for the indoor trainer. I can’t find an app for Trainerroad, Am I not looking in the right place or isn’t there an app? If not, is an app something planned in the future? I can mirror it from the phone but then I can’t listen to any blogs ect on the phone because if I do, I can’t sync up the cadence/HR. It works fine if I don’t listen to anything on the phone.
They dont have an app for it.
Is it something Trainerroad would consider?
i wouldnt know but bearing in mind they offer all other platforms they might not feel the need
There are several other threads about a Apple TV app, i think from the general feeling is that there are no plans for a ATV app
It brings a whole new world of usability issues (bad remote control and entering a FTP springs to mind in Zwift) , and technical issues (such as only two BT channels) that I sort of get t, also, i think users would soon get bored of TR on a large screen, it doesn’t really add anything (even with my failing eyes),
I like TrainerDays work around which also the apps figures to appear in a web browser (and embed YT video into the same browser) I’ve used it a couple of times, but always end up feeling, why don’t I just run the app on my mobile and watch whats on the TV
Zwift is totally great on Apple TV, the thing with the bad remote control is fixed since a half year or so, you only have to swwitch on Apple TV thats all and you can start your training and listen Apple Music on ATV too.
Totally agree, Love my Apple TV, like I said when I was talking about TR om ATV, not sure I would use it, main reason being is that after TR has made then UI changes, what would blue bars on a 65inch TV give me that it wouldn’t on my phone ?
Like i said in my post above, try changing your ftp in Zwift using the remote

The problem with TR not supporting Apple TV (for me anyway) is that many other training apps do, and people have their equipment set up around them. Personally I find it inconvenient to move my large monitor & stand (bought specifically for training and used for Rouvy) and replace it with the tablet on another stand. It all takes up room in a limited space. It would be so much easier just to swap apps in Apple TV.
